A Service of Gratitude for the Legacy at Saint John’s, Kingston
On Sunday, June 1st, the people of Saint John’s, Kingston will gather for what may be their final worship service in their historic building. As they prepare to join us for Sunday worship at Holy Cross + Santa Cruz, we are invited to accompany them in this important moment of remembrance and thanksgiving at their church building.
This service will honor nearly 200 years of faithful ministry, with prayers of gratitude, blessings for their legacy, and a shared hope for the future. After worship, Saint John’s will host a special luncheon, offer brief tributes, and welcome guests for tours of the buildings and grounds.
Let us join with them as neighbors, siblings in Christ, and partners in ministry.

Pentecost Sunday – Shared Worship Life – Festive Potluck
Pentecost is a festival of fire, breath, and new beginnings. On Sunday, June 8th, we will celebrate not only the coming of the Holy Spirit—but also the beginning of a shared worship life between Holy Cross + Santa Cruz and Saint John’s.
While no formal merger or consolidation has been decided, this Pentecost marks the first Sunday both communities will gather as one worshipping body at 30 Pine Grove Avenue. It is a day to rejoice, to welcome one another, and to trust that the Spirit is leading us into something new.
After the service, all are invited to stay for a celebratory potluck—a time to share food, laughter, and stories as we begin this new chapter together. Bring a dish if you’re able, and come ready to feast and fellowship!
