FUNERAL PLANNING DURING LENT – AN INVITATION
From Fr. Eliacín:
For Christians, Lent imparts a profound insight: that death is not solely an event marking life’s end but a constant presence in our everyday. It’s a mystery to ponder amidst life’s journey.
In previous years, I’ve urged parishioners to consider planning their own funerals at the outset of Lent. Many have found this process deeply meaningful. As a Priest who supports those arranging funerals for loved ones, having your own plans can alleviate significant anxiety for family members.
If you’ve already taken this step, use this Lenten season to revisit and potentially revise your plan.
If you haven’t yet embarked on this task, I encourage you to include it in your Lenten observance this year. It’s sacred work, integral to our spiritual journey. I have resources available to aid you in planning and am here for discussions and guidance.
HOLY EUCHARIST: Join us for Wednesday Holy Eucharist at Holy Cross+Santa Cruz every Wednesday at noon. This simple service includes a shared discussion on the Gospel reading for the day, followed by the sharing of Holy Communion. All are welcome to participate and deepen their spiritual journey.
