Care of the Homebound
This important ministry is provided by both clergy and lay members of the parish. All of our shut-ins receive a pastoral call once or twice a month.
Holy Cross+Santa Cruz Thrift Shop
We provide essential clothing and household goods at little or no cost, based on the level of perceived need. The prices are set to serve those who manage their lives on a limited budget. In situations of dire need no money is necessary to shop. The Thrift Shop is open on Saturday mornings year round.
Holy Cross+Santa Cruz Soap Closet
We provide hygiene products to families in need at no cost. Supplies such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toiletries, laundry and dish detergent help families whose income would not make purchasing these products possible. It was originally started to provide those necessary items not covered by food stamps. The congregation and the community at large fund this ministry.
Holy Cross+Santa Cruz ESL Program
English lessons are essential for new immigrants to establish themselves within the community and to eventually apply for citizenship. BOCES provides the teachers and the parish provides the space and child care services.
Holy Cross+Santa Cruz Twelve Step Programs
The parish hosts 7 weekly meetings to support sobriety from alcohol addiction and other drug dependencies. We consider it a privilege to support the miracle at work in so many in the community who put out the effort to reclaim their lives in response to God’s grace.
Holy Cross, together with Saint John’s, provides an Annual Scholarship to a deserving Kingston High School graduate.
We are always looking for new ways through which we might make God’s love visible and poised to take action according to our abilities and resources.
